“I've Got You Under My Skin” is a piece of traditional pop music, released in August 1966, based on the first version of this song by Virginia Bruce. It was produced by Voyle Gilmore. The songwriter was Cole Porter. Other popular versions of this song are for example; the version of Frank Sinatra or the version of Neneh Cherry.

This is a lovely and relaxing song, however, it could be interpretive like a threat because it implies that the lover does everything he has in his hands so that she can’t keep him.

This famous song by The Beatles was released on the 3rd of December 1965. The song lyrics established a threatening tone to the singer's girlfriend saying stanzas as: "Well I'd rather see you dead, little girl. Than to be with another man". And the chorus sung by John Lennox and Paul McCartney says: "You better run for your life if you can little girl, Hide your head in the sand little girl. Catch you with another man little girl, that's the end, little girl" I chose this song as I was so surprised that a singer as John Lennon could think in this way. That shows that gender violence attack in relationships where you can't ever "imagine"

This song was composed and released in 2015. This is the most personal song of Lady Gaga. The song starts and it is addressed to the persons who suffers gender violence, to someone who has suffered rapes, fight etc.. Lady Gaga says that the first feeling that the women have is that are embarrassed and they don’t tell to anybody. Lady Gaga suffered this when she was young, She says that no one can imagine the pain that women feel if you haven’t suffered it. And she talks about the mental problems that women suffer. We feel how Lady Gaga was raped and suffered this.

Fight Song is a song made by Rachel Platten in 2014 and released as a single from Columbia Records on February 19, 2015. This song tells the story of Rachel herself, who was inspired by many experiences that hurt me and made me feel like maybe I didn't have a chance in this
industry. I wrote it because I needed to remind myself that I believed in myself. No matter what, he was still going to make music, even if it was on a small scale. Even if his struggle to gain a foothold as an artist and fulfil his dreams of her as a singer failed. Creating an optimistic
and fighting composition to be able to remember that she believed in herself. The song peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts in the UK and Poland. It also peaked within the top ten of the singles charts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Ireland.
I chose this song because I had heard it before I started doing this rehearsal and it seemed spectacular to me. I love how the song is made since the melody is pleasant and motivating but at the same time melancholic and the lyrics contain a strong message to motivate women to step up and do what they want. Also what I like is how it doesn't follow the same format as the other songs which express the same thoughts.

Ain’t your mama is a song recorded by American singer Jennifer Lopez. It was written by Meghan Trainor, Theron Thomas, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Gamal "Lunchmoney" Lewis, Henry "Cirkut" Walter and Dr Luke, while production was handled by the latter two. The song was released on April 7, 2016, by Epic Records and Nuyorican Productions. "Ain't Your Mama" became Lopez's first chart appearance in some European territories in over four years. Though it peaked within the top ten of record charts in a variety of countries and received Diamond certifications in France and Poland.
This song is about the power between men and women, where the protagonist “Jennifer Lopez will not accept a man who needs her for all the things that he wants.
I like the song but more the lyrics because it’s something that we think that it’s normal and there’re a lot of women that don’t say anything to his man but women have the same rights and when you’re in a couple you have to give 50 50 with your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Every Breath you take is a song produced by the famous English rock band The Police in his own album called Synchronicity produced in 1983. This album and the single was the biggest hit in the USA and Canada country’s reaching the top 1 for three weeks also has reached the top 10 in many different countries. Also, the song was nominated for three Grammy’s awards Including song of the year, Record of the year and best Pop performance.
I choose this song’s because the song says many things related to the genre violence that appears in the circle of genre violence like violating his privacy, disparage of the aggressor to the victim, making the victim feel pity for the aggressor… However, is reflecting some signals of gender violence as I said before this appears in the majority of the lyrics and this song was denunciated by some feminists associations for the lyrics of the songs that could incite this gender violence.
In conclusion, I think that song reflects a part of our male chauvinist society because the song’s lyrics are not appropriated for a society where women are discriminated and illtreated physically and psychologically.

Respect is a song made by Aretha Franklin in 1967 and it’s part of the album “I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You”. This song is a soul song, because of its rhythm and the artist, but also this song is a remix of a song by Otis Redding made in 1965. The two versions are very different as the version of Aretha talks about a woman who asks for respect and how she has given it all to his husband and he still doesn’t trust her. The song of Otis talks about a man who is
desperate for having some respect for his wife, and who is capable to give her all.
I chose this song because I had listened few times before I was asked to do this essay, and I like it very much the song as the melody is nice and the letters contain a strong message to encourage women to demand respect and to show the world that there are women who need help as they are in a toxic relationship where they aren’t having the respect they deserve.
